As co-directed by Anne Marie Stein, Andrew Kukura, and Massachusetts-based psychologist-cum-anthropologist Jenny Phillips, the documentary The Dhamma Brothers relays one of the most astounding recent tales of social evolution in contemporary America. The events in question began circa 1999, with several lifetime convicts incarcerated in Alabama's Donaldson Correctional Facility who commenced regular Buddhist meditation sessions in that institution.

Guest Speaker:

Margot Sangster has studied at meditation centers and monasteries in the USA, Thailand, Nepal, England, and Canada. She lived/volunteered at Spirit Rock and Wat Kow Tahm Meditation Centers (Thailand). Margot completed the Buddhist Peace Fellowship BASE Program (Buddhist Alliance for Social Engagement) for homelessness and the Zen Hospice Training. She has been teaching meditation to people from all walks of life since 1998. Margot holds a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and is a registered clinical counselor. She is in the process of launching a private counselling practice here in Vancouver.  Margot’s professional experience is diversified, and includes social services, non-formal education, and international development. For the past three years she worked as a drug and alcohol counselor with the Drug Treatment Court in Vancouver. Margot has just accepted a new position as a cross-cultural mental health worker.  She enjoys swimming, cycling, hiking, and dancing in her spare time.
